Awakening – Original Painting

The inspiration for “The Awakening” came from Atlas, from the Greek mythology, together with the anatomy of the human body and modern technology. Atlas was a Titan condemned to hold up the celestial heavens for eternity after the Battle of the Titans. He is the titan of endurance, strength and astronomy. Atlas labors under the weight because he had been sentenced by Zeus to hold up the sky. With such a responsibility it is weighing heavily on his shoulders. I wanted to convey this into modern times, where the human knowledge and intelligence comes with big responsibilities. Here my thoughts went to Artificial Intelligence, since I have a bachelor’s degree in Art and Technology which also works in the field of AI. With all the new technologies humans develops, it comes with pros and cons by which we may not be in control of in the future. Imagine how artificial intelligence may outrun the human mind… the burden of knowledge weighted down on the human shoulders.
