Painting description:
This painting of David is inspired by one of the most recognised works of Renaissance sculptures by Michelangelo (1504). David is a symbol of strength and youthful beauty. His facial expression is calm and composed, at the same time he radiates agression towards the enemy with his frown and defiant glance. His head and hands are oversized, symbolizing strength and intelligence. These are two important qualities in the antiquity, according to the Greek philosophers; intellect is as important as strength.
David, the man child giant-killer with flowing golden curls.
